Autumn is officially here, and nothing says “Fall” like October! Here in Chicago, there are some exciting things happening around town that promise to delight and entertain both young and old. We’ve rounded up a list of just a few things you can take part in to usher in the season and enjoy your community.

No October list would be complete without talking about Halloween! There are a plethora of festivities planned around this Fall holiday that are sure to be a big hit with both young and old alike. Halloween in the Parks, from October 6-31, promises parties, dances, movies, and more for families at various parks in Chicago. Boo at the Zoo, on Saturdays and Sundays October 13-28, offers games, a hayride, and a costume parade at the Brookfield Zoo. Arts in the Dark, on October 20th, is a Halloween parade of artistic creatures down State street, and the Spooky Pooch Parade and costume contest will take place the same day at the Chicago Botanic Garden. The Halloween Pub Crawl from October 20-27 takes place at various locations: A Nightmare on Hubbard Street, Halloween Bar Crawl, Halloween Day Crawl, and Wrigleyville Halloween Crawl. For those of you who love to dance, Duet Dance Studio is offering a Halloween Thriller Dance Party on October 26, and be sure to check out the Nocturna All Hallows’ Eve Ball the same night. Hard Rock Cafe is throwing a Halloween Goes Hollywood party on the 27th, The Haunted Halloween Ball is the same night, and so is the Haunted Masquerade!
