The temperatures in Chicago are slowly on the rise, and you know what that means? Outdoor festivals are going to be aplenty in June! We’ve got a little bit of something for everyone, so allow us to highlight just a few options to get out and enjoy a good dose of Vitamin D!
June 1-3 will bring us a selection of heritage festivals, from the Lincoln Park Greek Fest featuring Greek food, music, and dancing, to Maifest with German beer and food, or perhaps you’d enjoy Taste of Mexico, with food, music, and carnival rides? Either way, you are sure to enjoy celebrating your heritage or learning more about someone else’s!
If music is your thing, you may want to check out one (or all!) of the music festivals going on this month. Ravinia Festival, billed as America’s oldest outdoor music festival, runs from May 28- Sep 16 and features many renowned artists. Chicago Blues Festival, which runs June 8-10 at Millennium Park, is the largest free blues festival in the world and promises to spotlight the great Chicago-born music tradition with live music by leading artists. If EDM is your style, the Spring Awakening Music Festival at Addams/Medill Park from June 8-10 will surely delight with two stages. Or, come relax and enjoy the melodious tunes of classical music at the Grant Park Music Festival from June 13- Aug 18 in Millennium Park!
